The husband commented about my lack of an update to the blog, so here it is...
It's been a slow paced weekend over here. Very uneventful. Lots of laziness. Staying in, keeping warm. A few chores here, some reading there. Lots of baby cuddles everywhere. Having a baby really slows everything down. Takes away that need to always be doing something. And I like it.
I think maybe Isabelle is here to help me learn to slow down. Being still has never been a strong point of mine. I'm not good at sitting around and doing nothing. I don't particularly value downtime. I prefer to be on the go, always having something to do. But I think kiddos definitely need that. Need downtime. One on one attention. With Kaylee it wasn't as much of an option. I was more than a full time college student, taking 19 hours each semester. Working part time. Part of a college athletic team. Taking the time to slow down and just enjoy her wasn't a part of my schedule. And I will always miss that, wish that I had that. I like to think that I did the best I could, considering my situation, but that doesn't make up for what I missed. So now I have another sweet little girl, teaching me to slow down and smell the roses.
Anyway, Isabelle accompanied me while I did a lot of reading this weekend. I read the three books in The Hunger Games trilogy and they were very good. While they aren't fantastic works of literature, there's definitely a great story line that will capture your attention. I'd recommend them if you're needing a few books to cuddle up with on a cold afternoon.
And Isabelle is excited because we ordered her a jumperoo today. We're all eagerly awaiting its arrival. Pics to come!
Winter does that to me. Makes me want to stay in. Be lazy. Snack all day. Lay around. Stay warm. I'm hoping to force myself to be productive in the next week, even if I do stay in. Catch up on some chores. Finish some projects I've been putting off. Enjoy my family :) I encourage you to do the same!
