I wrote about my new year's resolution's here, and now that a month has passed, I think it's time to take a look at how I've been doing.
--Obviously I've surpassed my blogging goals. I was aiming for 3 times a week, and I've actually blogged almost daily.
--I've also been cooking from recipes, which is an improvement on the 5 or so same meals I'd cook in rotation. Adding in some more would be even better though. I'll continue to share as I find things I think are good.
--If for no other reason than this blog, I've also been taking more pictures, which I'm happy about. As for displaying, I have big plans of a collage of pictures on a wall, sort of like this:
--I've really been keeping track of finances and what I'm spending money on and am really proud of it! I will post more on that in a separate post.
So there's the good.
As for the still needing improvement:
--Within the last week or so, I have been being more active. Going to the Y to walk around the track has been great. But in the weeks before last week, I definitely slacked on being active. And not a step has been ran yet, but that's not a priority until I make arrangements for Isabelle to be with someone other than me so I can run inside, or we'll run together once it's nice enough to take out the jogging stroller.
--We made the slightest baby step in preparing to have Isabelle sleep in her crib. (It's not a transition I feel I need to make immediately, but would like for it to happen sometime this year.) Since she hasn't been sleeping in it, we had it full of stuffed animals and clothes and all kinds of crap. Kaylee used it as a place to put her clothes instead of hanging them up or putting them in a drawer. But this weekend, we got it all cleaned out and changed sheets and let Isabelle practice laying in it.
--I also haven't started volunteering any more than what I've already been doing. But I've had my hands full at Kaylee's school, and my next big project there is that I'm the head chairperson for the fun night committee.
--As for the better wife and mom part. I don't see that I've made any changes there yet. I don't think I was doing *badly* to begin with, so I'd like to say I'm still not, but I also haven't made any improvement. I need to give Kaylee, especially, more one on one focused time. More real interaction. Starting today! Since she's home all day while the snow is falling, falling, falling outside.
So I'm glad that some improvements have been made in the first 1/12 of 2011, but I definitely have further to go.
