NEW! Snack Taxi Review and Giveaway

Please re-enter this giveaway! Not only was blogger freaking broken (really Blogger? As big of a company as you are, it takes you over 24 hours to perform your maintenance?!) but they also just deleted my newest post, which was this snackTAXI review and giveaway. So if you had already left a comment, it too disappeared into the world wide web somewhere. Grrr.

I know this would have been perfect last month for Earth month, but guess what?

We should be doing things that are good for the Earth EVERYDAY!
And I've got a great product that helps families become a little more eco-friendly.
In the last few years, I've tried to make lots of little changes within my own family – and one of these is to try and reduce using so much disposable stuff. Not just paper plates, or napkins, or paper towels.
What about plastic baggies?

I've got a much better solution than ziploc for you!

Erin Kelly-Dill is the mastermind behind snackTAXI.
"I invented SnackTAXIs way back in 2003 as a way to stem the tide of plastic ziplock bags that flowed from our house to the landfill when our 3 kids started school! We pack over 500 lunches every year, and had definitely fallen prey to the easy appeal of the ziplock bag.
SnackTAXIs are easy too - really! They are made in our home-based workshop by talented (and fun!) local sewers - we are committed to keeping our business local, and will never outsource our labor.
We hope you'll enjoy using snackTAXIs as much as we enjoy making them!"

SnackTAXI was kind enough to send me two resuable bags to review.
A set for me...and a set for you!

Kaylee immediately claimed the pink and green ones as her own, so I opened them up and checked them out.
The bags are very generously sized, which is awesome. And the long strip of velcro is the best part, because it allows you to fold down the bag to a smaller size if needed.

We packed her sandwich in the green bag and her pretzels in the pink one.
It's very roomy in there!

And here it is, all ready to go:

Kaylee LOVED using these snack sacks, and reported that several kids in her class asked about them and expressed a desire to have them for their lunches. Every night when I'm preparing her lunch for the next day, Kaylee always verifies that I'm going to use her pretty snack sacks.

Score one for SnackTAXI with Kaylee's stamp of approval!

As a mom, I liked snackTAXI because the bags are made with 100% cotton on the outside, and polyurethane coated nylon on the inside. The bags are lead, phthalate, and BPA free. SnackTAXIs are also easy to care for. They are machine washable, or can be hand-washed and air dryed.

The quality is obvious. The fabric is very sturdy, and the stitching is excellent.

And the benefit is unquestionable. This will reduce the amount of waste you contribute from using plastic baggies, and it'll save you money too - ziploc bags aren't cheap!

Score two for SnackTAXI with my stamp of approval too!

All in all, I would say that reusable bags from snackTAXI are a superior alternative to traditional plastic baggies. They are very well made and easy to use since all you have to do is rinse or wash the bag out after using. There are so many fabric choices, and I guarantee you'll find one you like. The best part is knowing that you're doing your part to help the environment!

In fact, I cannot think of a single reason why you shouldn't own a few!

You can buy directly from snackTAXI on their website!

Feel free to go like snackTAXI on Facebook as well!

And thanks to snackTAXI, one lucky reader of loving the little things will be winning their own set of reusable snack sacks!
To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me what you would pack in your snack sacks!
(of course, I also encourage you to be a follower of loving the little things)

Giveaway closes Tuseday, May 17 at 9:00 pm CST.
A winner will be chosen via and  announced on the blog and notified by email on Wednesday, May 18. Good luck!

In the interest of full disclosure, I was provided with the previously mentioned snackTAXI snack sacks from snackTAXI.. I received no compensation for my review, and my thoughts are entirely my own.

With blogger down just getting around to checking out my new visitors. Thank you for visiting and your lovely comment.
So happy to meet another mommy blogger and your kids are adorable.

I love these bags. I am going to check out their site...
I usually use plastic snack cups for snacks but do use zip locks for sandwiches and it would be great to get these.
Have you found they dry quickly though? That would be my only concern.

I would pack sandwich in one and what ever snack the kids want that day. They usually go for fish crackers mixed with mixed dried berries.
