Adult car seat

Welcome to my first example of not enough time for blogging. I usually always have a post up first thing in the morning, and it's usually MUCH more substantial than this, but for today, this is as good as it gets.

I installed Isabelle's new car seat in my car yesterday (it's a Britax Marathon, in case you're curious) and although most people push down on the car seat while tightening the straps, the best way to tighten the LATCH system straps is to climb in the car seat yourself.
Obviously.

What's the best book you've read in the last year?
(I need a few new reads to take to Florida next week!)

  1. That's why I make my husband do stuff like install the car seat. :) I wish I had a picture of him trying to sit in the car seat!

  2. That's exactly how I'd do it too!

  7. I'm so sorry. I hope it all gets better soon!
If you ever have a little boy, please don't circumcise him. No medical organization in the world recommends routine circumcision and some babies die from complications. Please check out these sites for more info on circ complications and good reasons to keep your baby intact.

  8. This is hilarious. Love that you can fit in it!

I was obsessed with the twilight books last year or was it the year before.
I also like the sookie stackhouse books (the books the True blood series on HBO is based on).
I usually read much more substantial books than these but for vacation these are cool.

  9. I'm trying to read the Dan Brown book "The Lost Symbol," but Ellie's not letting me. I know people get all into conspiracy theory stuff with him, but I just like the fiction.

Some (less recent) favorites are "The Time Traveler's Wife," "Beach Music" (WARNING: tear jerker), "Julie and Julia," "The Memory Keeper's Daughter," "Road Map to Holland," and "Once a Runner." I admit, "Once a Runner" is probably the most boring book ever unless you have a hardcore interest in running!

OK, that's my list for the day. Enjoy FL!

  10. HA!! Too funny - we bought a Britax for Addie and she really seems to like it better than the Graco infant carrier she still fits in!!

I haven't read anything other than baby books and pregnancy books in the last year so I'm totally at a loss for suggestions!!

  11. Now that is called mommy talent! I read "In the Woods" and "The Passage" this year and they were both pretty good if you like mystery. The second one is long and kind of out there. I am currently reading "Rainwater" so we'll see how that one is!

  12. too funny. But hey, you do what works, huh?

I have heard The Help by Kathryn Stockett is really good. I have been reading the Stieg Larsson book's (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, ....)but am having problems getting through the very last one. But The Help is next on my list. I am so out of the loop on books. Have fun on your vacation!!

  18. You're hysterical... but I am stealing this tip for when I install Gwen's! "Something Borrowed" and "Something Blue" were great, although it was A WHILE ago that I read them!

  19. too funny!!!!
SO many good books...i'm currently reading the girl with the dragon tattoo, it took a bit to get going but now it's gettin good and i plan to read the rest asap. I also got my first kindle book, one day, as the movie comes out soon (you know i'm BIG on book/movies!) all the emily giffin books (something borrowed series) are wonderful. as are all the shopaholic ones (movie is awful). i also love the pact by jodi p and my sisters keeper (another horrible movie). lovely bones is my hands down fav book EVER though :)

  20. The fact that you can fit into a car seat makes me really jealous. Ugh putting car seats in is my least favorite thing EVER!

  21. HA! I do the same thing though! Those things are a booger to get in rear-facing! I wish I had a picture of me (8 months pregnant) standing on the chicco base inside the car to get it fastened tightly! It would have been a sight for sure! But, it's all worth it knowing the seat is installed safely and securely!! I've said it before, but I'll say it again, Pierced by A Sword by Bud McFarlane Jr. is truly awesome.

I loved The Help. Such a great book.

  23. I always make my husband do those silly things because I break nails and just get super irritated at those metal clip things!

I have been on a reading binge since I got a Kindle. Recent faves: Lincoln Lawyer, Unbroken, Water for Elephants. My friend is reading Steven Tyler's bio book and says it's like a train wreck you can't stop watching!

  24. That's how I do it, too! Except people in my life make fun of me for doing it that way...my mother, my husband. So thank you for sharing this; now I've got back-up that I'm doing it right ;)

Hope your week is off to a great start! LOVE all the new pics of the girls too - the t-shirt on Isabelle is absolutely adorable!

We have 3 kids, and my son wants a brother. Ugh! Not sure that his wish will come true, though. ;)
