A little bit of everything...

But not all of anything.

I feel like that's the theme to my life these days. I'm doing a little bit of everything, but not all of anything. In other words, everything feels like it's half-assed, and I'm constantly behind.

I write out long to-do lists, but never manage to check everything off.

Sometimes I like to put a positive spin on it, and think of it as multi-tasking, but the truth is, I feel like progress isn't being made if I'm not completing anything.

For example, I do a few loads of laundry, but then my clean clothes basket overflows.

Or I start to go through stuff that gets piled on shelves, but then start doing something else halfway through and leave the top shelf all cluttered with junk.

Most days, I sweep and clean the floor, and 20 minutes later, you can't even tell.

And don't even get me started on my living room. It's in a constant state of toy-explosion.

I often wonder if getting some of many things done is better or worse than getting all of just one or two things done. What do you think?

  1. Oh this is the story of my life! After 6 years I still haven't grown used to it. It's so irritating sometimes. Ok all the time. I think it's quite common though. :)

  2. Girl, I'm doing well if my kids have clean underwear and customers get their orders in time.

And this comment would be longer, but I have a skirt to finish. ;) Heehee.

  5. This is me every day! I've completely given up on putting away the clean laundry. No worries; everyone know where to find the clean clothes. :-)

  6. ahhhhh! i am the same lately and it is SO frustrating. :/

i think i would definitely feel better if i could start checking some things off the list rather than just kinda getting a little bit here and there done!

good luck with everything you need to get done! hope you are doing well!

  7. My house is the same way, and so are my laundry baskets. My husband actually told me the other day that I can't just put whatever clothes I want to away, and leave socks and other stuff in the baskets. I say I can. :)

  8. I totally feel you on this one! I feel like we've been living in a constant state of chaos since coming back from India! It didn't help that those first few weeks we were home I felt too sick to do all the deep cleaning I was planning to do before students came back. Now I'm just constantly trying to catch up and leaving things half done. In fact, the second load of laundry I did today is going to sit in the dryer overnight because I'm too tired to go get it right now! :)

  9. I feel like this all of the time too...I have so much I want to get done but I'm SO unrealistic about the amount of time its going to take me to get it done!!!! Lately, I've been just trying to get one or two things done a day instead of tackling it all!!!

Hope you guys are doing well:)

  11. Getting some housework done is better than none at all! And don't feel bad, I don't even have kids and after 1 day of our house being really tidy it's a disaster! Cleaning and picking up is an on going thing, along with laundry!
